Future CRL & JRL MRT Line for Better Connectivity

Future residents in The Clement Canopy condo will benefit from the transformation of  Jurong East into the second central business district (CBD) in Singapore.

Significant improvements to amenities, public transport, and roads. With new future Cross Region Line and Jurong Region Line will connect the region to the existing rail network for faster travel to the rest of the island.

Expected to be completed in 2025, Jurong Region Line will connect to main activity nodes in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Jurong Innovation District.

This district will house learning, research, innovation and production activities together. The district will integrate Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with the surrounding areas. The CRL will be an important part of our MRT network – providing a faster commute between the east and the west, from Changi to Jurong. It will connect all of our existing radial MRT lines with close to half of the 30-plus CRL stations being interchange stations. Besides relieving the load on several of the existing MRT lines, the CRL will also provide commuters with many more travel routes to get to their destinations, bring about greater comfort to commuters and shorten journey times.

For instance, a commuter travelling from Ang Mo Kio can reach almost any part of Singapore using public transport within less than one hour, saving up to 30 to 40 minutes of travel time. Residents in Punggol will be able to travel directly to Pasir Ris – a popular travel route – in only 10 to 15 minutes, as compared to a 40-minute bus journey today.

For the residents of The Clement Canopy, they can reach travel to Ang Mo Kio and Punggol without transit at the MRT interchange.  This might save up to 20 to 30 min of travel time as compared to existing train journey.

Don’t forget that both the previous projects by UOL & SingLand are located close to future MRT station. Archipelago is close to Bedok North MRT station (Downtown Line 3), whereas Thomson Three is close to Upper Thomson MRT station (Thomson Line). It is high chance that The Clement Canopy will repeat the history to be located near to one of the Cross Island Line MRT stations.

The Clementi Mall, Clementi 321, CityVibe, Clementi Central market & food center and retail shops in Clementi Town Centre are within walking distance (10 to 12 min).  The 6-storey Clementi Mall hosts 135 retail outlets including NTUC, 16 restaurants, and cafes.
